Hi, does anyone use the above account for their cruise travel , if so what does the insurance cover?
Seems I will only find out after I have applied for the account, any pointers would be great.Stand alone insurance is circa £300 for us as a couple.

Do you have pre-exising conditions? If so you may equally struggle to find what your premiums will be until you have applied too.
Obviously you do have the cooling off period as oddly they dont seem to have the full wording online outside of the online banking, only the IDD
Assuming it's more or less the same policy offered as part of the Lloyd's Gold Account then it should cover a cruise. (The underwriter and the administrator are the same for both banks who are the same group of course) In the Lloyds Gold account FAQ's it is specifically mentioned, however it does not cover missed ports as some specialist cruise cover does. I'd suggest ringing the Halifax Travel Insurance Helpline and asking them. The Lloyd's helpline confirmed the cruise cover to me when I wanted to double check it was covered as we were booking a much longer cruise than usual- I expect it's actually the same call centre.

Full terms of insurance have to be provided before applying.
The Halifax Reward account pages are no different and all the information is there:
grinch53 Posts: 35 Forumitethanks all,
account info booklets dont specify cruising nor is any mention anywhere online, even after asking customer relations I was fobbed off with what is in the t&c's.
By the way, we have no health issues and still get high quotes for insurance
This might help :- I've copied the answer below to the question on the Lloyds Bank Allianz Assistance site under FAQ's Hot Topics "I'm travelling on a cruise does my policy cover this, as my travel company require this confirmation?"
While the policy does not specifically mention this, cover is provided under the standard terms and conditions of your policy for trips involving a cruise. The policy doesn’t however include additional cover aspects that some specialist cruise policies may provide, for example missed port cover if for some reason the ship cannot dock.
If you do need confirmation of this in writing, please request this by contacting Membership Services team by emailing travelinfoUK@allianz.com or calling the phone number shown on your banking documents.
This is of course linking through from Lloyds however I would imagine the answer will be the same for the Halifax version.
